After gaining an Engineering Degree, and having a variety of different jobs I decided I should do a PGCE.

I failed to impress at my first interview, the Program Lead and I disagreed over the relevance of an Engineering qualification to Primary Education. Luckily the second institution I applied to was more accepting and allowed me onto their PGCE course.

So here I am a Newly Qualified Teacher in Wales, trying to improve the system by writing about the issues.

I’ve found that questioning authority and the conventional wisdom hasn’t done my career any favours so I won’t explicitly identify myself. However, if you read the blog and think “this sounds a lot like…” then yes, you are probably right.
